Look Away Now if you haven’t seen Power Season 4 Finale

Since I have kept up with every episode of Power, I’m not sure if watching the last episode of Power counts for my aim of completing a tv show every weekend over the summer dog days. Here goes anyway. My overwhelming thought is thank goodness this Power Season 4 is over because I’m not sure how much more of this my heart can take.

Before I get into the show proper, I didn’t see Raina dying. I watched her interview on the breakfast club last week and it was clear that she didn’t want to leave the show. She said she tried to talk to Courtney Kemp about it but she was shut down. Poor girl (It was all Tariq’s fault. More on Tariq below).

Back to the finale.

You know that scene where Ghost, Tommy and Tasha converge in the flat just after Tariq did what he did? I saw a clip of the stairwell bit on someone’s instastory and the caption said “Power o…My chest”. that’s exactly how I felt. I was like this show needs to end now. I think the way it will sort of play out also makes sense. They will find the bullet in the wall and trace it to Tasha’s gun. Tasha, being a stand up mum will take the fall and I guess that’s where the fun starts. Regardless of what the Lawyer says about being a Lawyer and Lover, I don’t think he can separate work from feelings so it will be interesting to see how he manages that. I also see conflict in the future between him and Ghost. Ghost will try to be there for his wife but I think those 2 are on a collision course.

I thought Dre was on the fast lane to getting killed but he pulled off something there. He moved up a notch and partnered with the Jimenez. Now he has their protection and obviously Ghost and Tommy (and Kanan?) want to take him down. Seems like they’re running to the Italians for help. How do you think that plays out? I think it is only a matter of time before they start fighting with Kanan  (the Italians and ultimately themselves) again. Besides, 50 Cent is better when he plays the heel. He doesn’t play the good guy role very well.

Then there is also that new witness they apparently brought against Ghost. I wonder what the play with that one is. Angela better take control of that situation because there are only so many directions this show can pull my heart in.

Also how do you reckon this whole thing with Councilman Tate, Ghost, Stern and the Hood Rats play out? That’s another thing Ghost has to worry about. Don’t forget They still have a funeral to plan and Raina’s ghost will probably hang over all of them. How about Tariq? Courtney Kemp has turned him into the most hated teenager on TV. No doubt it is affecting him in real life too so I think they need to make his character more likeable? He wasn’t so bad in the finale and I thought he switched between different emotions pretty well. I previously marked him down as Tristan Wilds II (Only capable of a few different facial expressions). He is really becoming a mini Ghost isn’t he? I wonder how his character grows in the next season.

Thankfully my heart has ample time to recover.

In other news, I started watching Narcos season 3. It starts off slow but boy does it get interesting. I’ll try to do a post on the first look tomorrow or the day after. Until then, all I have to say is Panchooooooo! Noooooooo!
