A Trip Down Memory Lane

Bev is the Woman I’ve always dreamed of: an angel in the bedroom and a whore in the kitchen

Over the past week, I’ve been thinking of rewatching a series I really liked from back in the day. I spent so much time thinking about it and I eventually lost interest. It all hit me yesterday though. I decided I’d start watching Boston Legal again. I’m not sure why it took me such a long time to figure out. I loved it when it was on and it strikes that fine balance between Drama and Comedy.

The show has that feel good factor for me. Come to think of it, I had a really good reason to rewatch it. When I watched it back in the day, those Pirated CD’s got the order of episodes wrong. It was just a mish mash of different episodes. This time I will get to follow the episodes and the story properly.

I saw the first episode yesterday and all those happy memories came flooding back. Who knew William Shatner was such a brilliant actor. In each episode, he gives us some hard hitting one liners. the one at the top of the page is one of my all time favourites though.

Alan Shore played by James Spader is brilliant in it too. The chemistry he has with Denny is so original. The banter and relationship between both characters alone is worth watching the show for. What I also think is very cool is the fact that both characters get together at the end of the episode to drink whisky and smoke a cigar. Whilst I’m not really one for drinks, those scenes at the end of each episode are partly responsible for my love of cigars.

The whole show is 5 seasons and about 100 episodes deep. I wonder how much I will binge and if I will ever get tired of the antics. How long will that even take? Stick around and find out how it goes!

* Side note. I like this trip down memory lane business. There are so many good shows from back in the day that I can explore. Maybe once every other week, i’ll do a post about old school series we maybe should take a second look at

  1. most definitely ONE OF MY FAVOURITE of all time

Denny Crane and Alan Shaw best bromance in tv history!!!

I guess it is what Suits tried to recreate with Harvey and Mike – but you know bad story-line and script and soppy drama got in the way. lol

count me in for re-watch sessions !! whoop xx
